My great grandfather, John Lindsay, (1802/3-1861) was born in Paisley, near Glasgow. He was a conscientious type, and a weaver of fabrics, probably of shawls, useful in designing and in drawing. Apparently he had many jobs. The General Register records his marriage on 14Jun1824 thus: "John Lindsay, Weaver, Calton, Glasgow and Janet Scott, residing in Paisley. Registration is in the Parish of Barony, in County of Lanark". Of Janet I know nothing except her dates, about 1798-1867.
