Thuy Thanh Tran - Travel Guide
Saigon and the Mekong Delta
On our tour of Saigon and the Mekong delta we were accompanied by our
guide Thuy Thanh Tran. Originally from the Mekong Delta region, Thuy
(pronounced Twee) now lives in Saigon.
In addition to her duties as a guide, Thuy also recommended, and purchased for us, a couple of
books that we read during our stay in Viet Nam. The
books explained the modern day culture and the some of the issues
currently faced by the country and it's people. It provided a good
introduction for much of what we were to see during the rest of the trip.
The My Thuan bridge, a large and recently opened suspension bridge,
fascinated Thuy and one of her goals was to walk over it. We accompanied her
on her walk over the bridge and got some great picturesof the
surrounding countryside.
Should you plan to travel in southern Viet Nam and would like a guide,
we highly recommend Thuy.
