Born Sandyholme. Schoolmaster at Dunbaarney (part of Bridge of Eain, Perthshire) on 25Jul1863, when presented with a stick.

MBM: Born 21July1819 at Sandyholme. He became a schoolmaster at Dunbarney, Bridge of Earn. Dr. David McNish at Dumfries has a walking stick presented to this son on 25July1863, i.e. when William was only 44 years of age. Why? Where is Dunbarney?

He married and had three daughters, one of whom was an artist. On this retirement he and his family moved to Crief.
