Luzern (a.k.a. 'Lucerne') is a well known as a tourist destination in Switzerland. What is less well known are the music festivals that take place here. The main mustic festivals are the International Music Festical featuring classical music and the the Blues Festival. Both festivals attract world famous artists. This year's Blues Festival includes Peter Green, Billy Cobham, Robert Plant and others.
Following are some pictures from the Blues festival that took place
in July 2000. Click on the pictures to see them expanded to their

This year, thanks to the completion of the new concert hall, many of
the open air concerts took place in front of the hall, providing a beautiful
backdrop to the scene. In the picture above you look across the end
of the Vierwalldstaettersee (Lake of Lucerne).
It's not too crowded and as a spectator you can get quite close and
really see the bands. In this case it's Vidar Busk & His True Believers.
It's lots of fun and you should come see it next year!
So you're probably wondering: What's with the frog?
